Mike Bardsley started learning locksmithing in 1974 while still in Southern California. When he moved to Nevada County in 1978, he was hired as the first employee at the only established shop in the county.
He continued as manager of that shop until 2009.

Mike also worked for a major locksmith wholesaler in Southern California which gave him an in-depth knowledge of lock manufacturers and their products. While there he participated in many industry related classes, seminars and trade shows. He continues taking classes today to stay abreast of the new security hardware constantly appearing on the market.

Mike helped form the Los Angeles / Orange Counties Chapter of the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) and served as its first chairman.

In 2009, with 35+ years of experience, Mike started his own company,  Bardsley Safe and Lock.

NOTE: Beginning in 2018, Bardsley Safe and Lock began specializing
in Safe Opening, Servicing, Upgrades and Repair.

As of this writing, he is still the only Certified Master Locksmith (CML) in Nevada County, as recognized by the ALOA and he is still the only Registered Safe Technician (RST) in Nevada County, as recognized by the National Safecracker's Organization (NSO).
